August 18th, 2022 Construction Update | Lake Erie Arms Indoor Shooting Facility | Milan, OH

Progress for our new facility is moving along swiftly! We know everyone wants an update about construction. We’ve been planning for this for years, and now that the building is going up, we can’t help but tell you about every ounce of concrete and every piece of steel. It’s exciting!

So, here are a few updates as of today:

First, the Steel Structure for the Front Building is here and ready to go up.

As you can imagine, this is particularly exciting, because it means that the actual structure itself is going to be visible soon. Of course, all of the construction steps are important (infrastructure, concrete, drainage, etc.). But, let’s face it: there’s something about seeing the building itself go up. That’s happening soon! The erection of the front building steel is scheduled for early September!

The steel structure for the second floor of the front building and the steel for the back building are coming in September!

This means that the steel framing for most of the facility will be on-site before the weather turns cold. Since the front building steel is going up just a few weeks and the steel for the back building is going to be on-site at about the same time, the progress will be quite visible soon!

AV Lake Construction is currently pouring the concrete footers and piers!

Some of the footers are huge (9.5’ x 9.5’ x 4’ thick). There is something cool about massive amounts of concrete forming the foundation for this incredible facility. The guys at AV Lake Construction are great, and we love seeing this phase of the construction take place.

Roadways and Excavation Work Continue.

This is going to be a gigantic facility, so it is going to require a lot of parking and roadways for all of you fine people to get here and park your vehicles. This phase of the project is a big overtaking in itself. It’s coming along, though!

Masonry for MASSIVE Firewall Between Front and Back Buildings

Masonry will start any day for the HUGE firewall that will be between the front and back building. This wall will be absolutely HUGE (250’ long x almost 44’ tall).
